I don't have too much to add to the other reviews, except to say that this is still a nice hotel. It is not the newest hotel in the world, but it is nonetheless adequate and up to the usual high Marriott standard. Its location is probably the nicest place in Chemnitz.
Chemnitz, by the way, has come a long way in the last few years. While there are no world-class attractions, it is a pleasant city well worth visiting.

The Renaissance Hotel is a great base for discovering the Saxony area.
The hotel is very comfortable and the staff are very friendly and accommodating to tourists. The rates were very reasonable and still the five star service was excellent. If only most hotels were like the Renaissance - what a pleasure travelling would be.
nice, clean and quiet hotel, small bi-level suite for a good rate, suite has very nice rooftop terrace overlooking the city of Chemnitz, frontdesk staff very young but trying hard to do a good job, restaurant staff pretty slow, food is ok
