City hotel is located on the rather busy, unattractive Richard Wagner Strasse. The hotel itself, however, is on a back yard which is quiet. Also, Richard Wagner Strasse is the northern boundary of the Nauwisser area, which means that plenty of nice bars and restaurants are literally around the corner. Proper city centre with St Johanner Markt and Bahnhofstrasse (main shopping drag) is just a 5 minute walk through the Nauwisser area. Pretty decent location in other words.
Clean but very basic rooms that remind you of the seventies. Basic but good breakfast.
I've had friends stay at hotel Madeliene (----) which is better bet location-wise, in-between of the Nauwisser area and city.
