Saarbrücken isn't especially beautiful, but this hotel probably makes the most of it, by being right on the Saar river. I did have a river view, which I appreciated. But there's something, well, mercenary in how much they show off the things you could pay for. Internet is €9/day, there were snacks on the table (which when I put them into the space under the TV, they kept moving back to being on top of the table), etc. It all felt, well, kind of cheap.
That said, it was kind of cheap: it was around €110/night plus taxes, which I guess isn't too bad as a deal.
Breakfast was pretty standard German hotel breakfast. But, well, that's tasty, actually.
