We stayed at this hotel in October 2011. It is off the main thoroughfare and we had asked for a quiet room. The staff are friendly and efficient. Our room was clean with good linen and towels. Breakfast was good and generous. Our only gripe was the fluctuating heat in the shower. It is a walk-in wet room type. I do not know if all the baths in the hotel are being exchanged for showers which would, perhaps, be a problem if travelling with children. Also the room heating was inefficient. There is a small bookable car park - a real boon.
At the entrance is the Primavera restaurant. Good food, well cooked.

The location is great in the sense of proximity to the sights of Trier. The hotel has an amazing Italian restaurant at the entrance and other restaurants and shops are just steps away. It is not in the pedestrain zone and therefore slightly off the center which was nice to get away. However, the location within the narrow alleys of Trier causes echoing from footsteps to people talking. Even with the windows closed we could hear people on the street below and in the restaurant. We had that luxury in the winter but the summer with open windows I can only expect it is much louder.

Which brings me to the next point- other posts have stated that the walls are thin but I had no idea that they were PAPER thin. You could hear the entire conversation of our neighbors when they returned home from partying at 3am. This also meant that they heard our 11mo son when he decided 6am was a great time to get up and play.

The rooms- The first room we were given (Rm 108) was tiny and had a slight smell. Worse there was mold growing through the wall that connected the bathroom and the rest of the room. We went back to the reception and asked for a new new room. They were extremely gracious and understanding. We were given Rm 302 which was much bigger. The bathroom had been upgraded with granite and a rain shower. The room itself had seen better days. The walls were marred from years of use. Although not dirty it was definitely used regularly. Many of the moldings and edgings were coming up. The bed was comfortable. There was a small TV and desk. There was a nice closet.

The breakfast was included in our rate of E70 per night. It was exactly as previoulsy described with meats/cheeses/bread/jam/butter/muesli/milk/coffee/tea. Traditional German fare. There were hard bolied eggs and juices. You caould ask for specialty coffee drinks like cappucino at no charge. The fruit salad was a combo of fresh and canned fruit.

They did accpet pets and our dog was E7 per night. Pets can go into breakfast and the restaurant as well.

The staff was great and coureous throughout. There was a small descrepency with our booking. I had a question about something and we went through an online booking site. The woman from the site told us that she had called to confirm our reservation and that a baby cot would be needed and in the room. There was no baby cot when we arrived. We did bring our own this time fortunately.

Parking was E6 per night and immediately outside the building. There is not much other choice without walking and it worked for us.

One other thing was that there are no smoking rooms so people went just outside the front door to smoke which was a small area. The smoke also wafted all night to the windows on that side of the building. We could smell the smoke in our room with the windows closed.

For just a few Euro more, there are many other hotels with better reviews. I would not stay here again.

Not a bad hotel - pretty average - the staff was great though.
Those on the front said the street was noisy but on the back you are overlooking aprt patios and they do party late.

We stayed in Primavera Hotel for 3 nights in June 2010. The location was perfect for us - close to the shopping/tourist area, but a bit off the central streets and with hotel parking. Besides, the weekend we were there, there was some street event going on with beer tents, music stages and loads of people strolling the streets, so, if we had stayed somewhere virtually central, we would not be able to sleep well.

Our room - clean and basic - was somewhere on the back of the hotel with windows facing inner yard, so no traffic noises.

Breakfast was basic, nothing special, but enough for us.

The staff was extremely helpful, never failed to provide us with information or advice we needed.
