A few minutes walk from the key tourist attractions of this wonderful city.
The room was a reasonable size, clean and well maintained (the one small problem was quickly fixed) The only shortcoming was no air conditioning - normally this would not have been a problem but we stayed there during a heat wave, temperatures up to 34C (94F)
Good breakfast in the typical German style.

We stepped by this hotel, a few meters from Porta Nigra Platz and from Dom, at 9 pm after learning that the Astoria had given away our room.
We had a cosy room, reasonable priced; candies were on the pillows. Breakfast included, as well as car parking in a private locked lot. Staff was very friendly.
We had a good and right-priced dinner at the nearby Romischer Kaiser restaurant, open till 10 pm. You can also have meals in your room if you wish to.

We found this hotel by chance when passing through, but will stay there again. In lots of ways, it's a typical german hotel, solidly built, ad well-run. The room was very spacious, with a terrace/balcony and a HUGE bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. The car park was gated and secure. The location is just round the corner from the old part of town, with Cathedral, town square etc. We paid 105 Euros and considered it good value, but I guess it may be cheaper if you book in advance. Definitely one to try if you have a day or two to look round Trier, though maybe not an ideal business hotel?

I found this hotel just by walking around Trier a little while. The location is excellent. It's on a main street close to the Porta Negra, but it is set back from the street so I had no problem with traffic noise. There is free parking in a locked lot just down the side street next to the hotel. It's an easy 5 minute walk to the big plaza in the center of the city.
My room was very comfortable, extremely clean and nicely decorated in a simple, tasteful manner.
Breakfast was included in the 72 euro rate and was very good.
The rooms are not air-conditioned, which might be a problem in the peak summer months, but I didn't need AC in May.
All in all, a fine hotel and an excellent value.

On a getaway with my wife we found this hotel on arrival to Trier.
Pleasant and friendly staff.
Everywhere seemed within walking distance.
Rooms were clean and comfortable.
We found also that our bathroom was on the small side so if you don't like small or pokey bathrooms ask to see the room first before commiting.
All in all a pleasant overnight stay.
