Staff were friendly and recommended places for dinner. Useful location for walking around the town and close to the Christmas market. Good alternative hotel for conferences at the ERA, given it's about a half-hour walk, or 7/8 euro taxi journey to the conference venue.

Friendly, helpful staff, good breakfasts, excellent location, 5 minutes walk from city centre and on the inside of the inner ring-road, 100m from Porta Nigra. I can only reiterate earlier positive comments. I would certainly use this hotel again if in Trier

If you haven't visited Trier because you have been wooed by the more flashy cities in Europe, do yourself a favor and visit it. It is small and quite with some wonderful sites, includign the Porta Nigra and Dom. Little to knwo ambience and reminded me of the business level hotels in the States.

And this hotel was right in the center of town and perfect walking distance to the main attractions. The price was also good and included parking in a secure lot about a block away, which was handy because my mother and I were on a road trip. The best part is that we did not leave Trier until 1pm the next day and they let us keep our car in the lot wihtout charging us.

The room was nice sized, with two twin beds (as requested) and a little table looking out onto the french balcony. Our window faced a quiet side street which was good because we actually needed to leave the window open because it was a little warm. The bathroom was nice and, as someone else mentioned, the shower was really good. I love a nice powerful shower. Furtinture is nothing special, looks like your standard heavy duty IKEA-like furniture, but the matresses and bedding were soft and confortable. Plus the place was spotless.

There was no bellboy when we were checking in, so that was disappointing considering this seemed like a pretty high end hotel, but they had an elevator (thankfully!).

The breakfast was good. They had the usual buffet style food and it was neither great nor horrible. it was average and good. Teh mini croissants were good and made nice little bread ham and cheese sandwiches. My mother had them with jam.

Overall efficient and comfortable and great location. Would visit again.

The shower. Oh god, the shower. The single greatest shower I've ever used, in a hotel room or elsewhere, ever. Bar none. So powerful I felt like I was being flayed alive. In a word, AMAZING. Other than that, generally pretty good. Comfortable bed, big rooms, high ceilings, free wifi, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff and a pretty decent breakfast. Also very well located, a short walk from the main square. But, frankly, even if it had a bed of nails and was staffed by a grumpy pitbull, I'd still rate it just for the shower.

There was no aircon or fan in the room and it's on quite a busy road so if you open the window there's a bit of noise. The wifi signal was a bit ropey and it needed setting up twice. After that it worked OK though, and it was free.

Parking is a hundred yards or so down the road. An easy walk, perhaps not brilliant if it's bucketing down and you have a lot of luggage.

All in all, pretty darn good and I'd happily stay there again.
