Location: The choice isn’t wide in Ludwigshafen, particularly for non-business travellers, and most hotels seem to define themselves by how close they are to BASF. This one isn’t far from there and it is also within only a few minutes’ walk of the main shopping areas. Not cheap though.
Accommodation and facilities: I took the advice offered in other reviews on TripAdvisor and booked a “superior” room. This was OK, of a reasonable size, well appointed, and the bathroom was nice.
The public rooms and corridors made a rather gloomy impression.
Service and Food: An exception to that last point was the breakfast room, which was nice and bright. The buffet included a hot option and was very good
The bar was also nice. The staff there were friendly and efficient, a characteristic shared by the staff on reception, who were, however, a bit brisk in manner.
Ludwigshafen is not a city I mean to make a habit of visiting, but if I did go there again, I certainly wouldn’t rule out staying at the Europa.
