Having read previous reports we were a little anxious of what to expect, suprise,suprise!!! was nothing like the reviews we had read. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was an unusual mix but very tasty especially the soup. We found the rooms very comfortable, clean and most of all, warm (the radiators were easily adjusted to suit the rquirements) . Although we were advised that the hotel was only a short walk from the city centre, in the snow it was not worth the risk so we had a taxi (6 pers = 18eu each way!), a bit much for a 3 mile trip!. Having said all that the hotel was much better than expected and would certainly look forward to a return trip.

I stayed at this hotel as a teacher with a school party, but it is so much better than anything I have stayed in before when with a school. This is a proper hotel not a youth hostel. Rooms are en suite and are very clean and tidy. I was stopping in the annexe that was brilliant as it meant I could keep an eye out for my group. I would have no hesitation in returning here if I was traveling as an independent person.

This was a perfect change to staying at a chain hotel. It is a 3* hotel however we were impressed with the hospitality from the family who owned it and the restaurant. The food was incredible. Everything was cooked to perfection. It would be a great place to go in the spring/summer with an outdoor pool and garden. Only suitable for those travelling by car really. It's out of the city but easy to get to and from, only 8 mins by car to the German Corner for eg. I'd recommend in to anyone!

We stayed here as part of a coach trip to the Xmas Markets. This hotel is run by the third generation of the family who are visibly working to keep you happy. It is in the middle of a residential area so very quiet, just the next door neighbour who hangs out of his window watching the coaches bringing the visitors. There are fantastic views over the Rhine if you stay in the main part. There are also separate blocks to stay in. There are no lifts but they will help lug your cases up the many flights of stairs. It is very clean and very German. At the front entrance a red telephone greets you and the large gardens are somewhere plesant to pass a few moments. This hotel is 10mins drive from Koblenz and about 1 hr form Cologne depending on the traffic which can be a real problem. There are 2 restaurants one downstairs and the top restaurant where we ate and it was very hot, so dress coolly and the bar is downstairs… so be careful when carrying drinks. Service was slow but there is nothing else to do, they speak a little English and you can make yourself understood if there any problems. The meal was 3 courses, soup no bread at anytime, meat course and dessert. They cater for veggies. Breakfast is cold meats, breads, yoghurts but no fruit. So you have to bring in your own. Tea and coffee is taken from the bar and is not included in the meal. There is a bar area, but it is amongst the dining tables! The room we stayed in was lovely, clean with soap and shampoo but no hair dryer. Furniture and décor is from Ikea. Defiantly a place to stay at. A 5mins walk downhill will bring you to the local shops, a supermarket and a cash dispenser which is open at night in a secure bank.
