Single traveler, I stayed in the Ibis for 8 nights in Oct. 2011. First time there. My company has an office in Koblenz, so if I ever go back, I will definitely stay at the Ibis, no question.
It is located 1.5 blocks from the train station, and only a 10 or 15 minute walk to the Deutches Eck (corner of Mosel & Rhine rivers). 5 minute walk to the 'pedestrian zone'.
The room was clean and quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. The curtains blocked the light properly (no gaps). The room was not large, but there was more than enough space for just me for 8 days. If my spouse had been with me, there still would have been adequate room. The room was very clean every day.
The breakfast was good - tasty breads that the Germans seem to excel at, cereal, yogurt, cheeses & meats, fruits & vegetables, juices, eggs.
The free wireless access is only free in the lobby/lounge, but there is a lot of space there, and it beats being holed up in the room. Plus, the bartenders are friendly & efficient.
Had to get a taxi to my office every day, and the receptionists called the taxi company the night before for me, so the taxi was always waiting right out front for me.
There was a slight issue with the bill when I checked out, but it was completely my fault for not carefully reviewing it upon checkout. When I got back to the States & discovered it, they resolved it very quickly for me.
A good thing for those who arrive early before check-in time, or need to leave much after checkout time: they will hold your luggage in a completely secure locked room until you ask them to retrieve it.
My company has 'approved' a few hotels in Koblenz, but I will come back to Ibis next time.
