We went to see AC/DC in Oberhausen, so the Tryp was perfect for staying the 2 nights as the König Pilsener Arena is just over the road. The hotel was alright, nothing fancy though. A bit like drinking water or driving a Nissan...it fulfills its purpose. The room was clean and quiet, no complaints at all.

I'll make this short. I usually don't write reviews about bad hotels unless they turned out really bad. I needed a double room real bad at the centro with my really slow bandwidth that day I could only find this hotel next to the centro (great location btw:that about all the plus you're gonna get) for 69 Euro (online price)..still had to pay 80 and an extra 3 bucks for the parking area (which isn't really electronically monitored).book online if you have to stay here.
Lobby, pillows and the rest of the room smell of nicotine. Awfully trained receptionist(Judith) running the desk. I paid my hotel fees up front (like everyone else that day) with a 500 Euro bill, finding change turned out to be a big fuss. Therefore I had to endure "the dirty look" while she was opening the cash register - I have a feeling they have been through some pretty rough stuff.

Take your most prized belongings with if u have to leave the room...or better...don't check in at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Visited Oberhausen for the Fleetwood Mac concert in the Konig Pilsener Arena which is at 5 minutes walk. Hotel is also good place to stay when you visit the Mall Centro.

Rooms are good and clean. Large bathroom. Hotelstaff friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served at the hotel, but you can fruhstuck much cheaper at the Centro-Mall (± €5,-). Only minor point: the carpark is not big, so arrive early.

THe hotel is conveniently located at the Centro shopping Center. That is all the plus you get.
The lobby is filled with smoke, the showers smell mouldy; toiletpaper, and soaps are not changed for new guests (yuck!), the rooms have a bad smoke smell, and the food tastes as if it was precooked a year ago. No minibar.
Our shower was broken and they could not fix it, and there was no other room available. Never go there, unless you can take all this and you really need to be close to Centro.
