This hotel is ok.

Good points =

1-parking
2-Good Breakfast
3-Free Wifi Internet access
4- Nice pub
5- good restaurant

Bad points =
1- Reception staff is not very nice neither polite
2-Pub staff is not very kind
3- There is nothing in the sorroundings

I write this review in response to the only other review written on this hotel headed House Doctor. We decided to book a spare of the moment trip over to Germany to watch England play Portugal and as you can imagine accommodation was very scarse. The Parkhotel was one of the only reasonable priced hotels left in the area that we wanted to stay in but upon reading the other review on this hotel we were not 100% about booking. We then decided that stayin in a dodgey hotel would be better than a park bench so we booked it up fearing the worst. When we arrived we was pleasantly surprised as book in time was not supposed to be until 4.00pm. We arrived at 12.00pm expecting to be hanging around for a few hours but no sooner had we walked in reception we was handed our keys. The room was clean and we had a very comfortable couple of days stay. The buffet breakfast was also very nice and the staff were all very friendly. Our room was overlooking the main street and occasionally got a little noisy but this did not overly bother us. Obenhausen Central was about 3KM away and the taxi journey was 10.00 euros which was quite reasonable too. All in all we had a very nice weekend and would definately recommend staying here. (Well all apart from England loosing on penalties)!!

Sorry,its the first bad review i write,but it has to be done.Just returned from business trip to Oberhausen.The company i work for booked me in to that Hotel.My room was 214 on the 2nd floor.Def last make over end 70s i would say.Green tiles in the bathroom,brown carpet,yellow walls.Dirty windows and filthy corners.TV broken,half empty Minibar(was glad that it wasn t put on my bill thoug).The staff seemed to be the cast of a sitcom.For example when i asked for anything to eat on my room since i don t enjoy sitting in a completely deserted hotelrestaurant on my own it caused them serious stress.They wouldn t bring the meal to my room, i had to wait in the restaurant as the only customer for 40 minutes for a salad.In germany 4 star stands for superior standard.this is far from anything close to that.may be i was in a bad room,but than you still have to deal with the Blackforest,Chalet and Heidi gone mad concept.Housedoctor needs to be invited to this place urgently.Plus its in the middle of nowhere.taxi to train station 12Euro.to airport Dusseldorf30Euro.
