My daughter and I went to the Justin Bieber concert at the Konig-Pilsner Arena in Oberhausen, Germany. She and I stayed at the Best Western which is exactly 10 minutes from the arena. The reception was very polite and helpful with check-in.

When I opened up the door to the room I didn’t want to leave! There was a separate sitting area, huge bedroom with sliding doors and a king size bed, a bathroom to die for with Jacuzzi tub and separate walk-in shower. Did I mention there was a television in the bathroom with heated floors!

The bed was very comfortable which I desperately needed after hearing tons of screaming girls in my ear and the Jacuzzi bath was absolutely fabulous.
Best Western offers a full breakfast buffet (included in our rate) from cappuccinos, croissants, and fruit to eggs, bacon, and sausage.

Outside of attending a concert; there is a huge shopping area in the arena complex. When I’m in that area again I will definitely be staying at the Best Western again.

We stayed in a family room for 1 night at the end of May, following a day's skiing in Bottrop. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, the hotel guide said they'd be delivered to the room on request, but upon asking in the morning, we were told to collect it ourselves from the breakfast room, and the previous night the hotel's small restaurant was full and we could not obtain a table. The hotel is not located in the middle of a thriving epicurean centre. And believe it or not, it is still legal to smoke in pub bars, hence the hotel bar was not suitable for little people. We should have asked for more pillows too.

The rooms are not air-conditioned.

Location wise, it is OK for access to the local tourist attractions.

This hotel is ok.

I write this review in response to the only other review written on this hotel headed House Doctor. We decided to book a spare of the moment trip over to Germany to watch England play Portugal and as you can imagine accommodation was very scarse. The Parkhotel was one of the only reasonable priced hotels left in the area that we wanted to stay in but upon reading the other review on this hotel we were not 100% about booking. We then decided that stayin in a dodgey hotel would be better than a park bench so we booked it up fearing the worst. When we arrived we was pleasantly surprised as book in time was not supposed to be until 4.00pm. We arrived at 12.00pm expecting to be hanging around for a few hours but no sooner had we walked in reception we was handed our keys. The room was clean and we had a very comfortable couple of days stay. The buffet breakfast was also very nice and the staff were all very friendly. Our room was overlooking the main street and occasionally got a little noisy but this did not overly bother us. Obenhausen Central was about 3KM away and the taxi journey was 10.00 euros which was quite reasonable too. All in all we had a very nice weekend and would definately recommend staying here. (Well all apart from England loosing on penalties)!!
