My husband and I had business in Dusseldorf and this small hotel is located about 22kms. north of there. The hotel room was clean and serviceable and relatively roomy by European standards. The bathroom was somewhat dated and had a tub/shower that you had to step up into which might be difficult for some older travelers. But it was clean and there was plenty of hot water. There was no lift/elevator but we were on the first floor (one floor up) so not a problem for us. There was a small buffet breakfast which included some cold meats and cheese, yogurt, and assorted breads and cereals. Parking was available out front or in the garage and was free as was the internet once they provided you with a code to gain access.
What was remarkable was that we arrived very early in the morning (8:30) due to our early flight and realized we would probably have to wait to check in, but the woman at the desk was very empathetic and told us she could have our room ready by 10am, would that be alright? Obviously, that was more than fine and we were not charged anymore for this arrangement. In the evening the gentleman at the desk recommended a restaurant which turned out to be typically German and excellent.
The only reason I did not give this hotel a "5" was due to its location which was not that close to the center of town or anything of interest. But this is not a touristy town. If you happen to be in this area and need a room, then I would not hesitate to recommend it based on our experience.
