room rate quite high for the room quality.
Airconditioning unit was broken,
some very bad odours coming out of bathroom sewer system.
Restaurant not bad but quite arrogant service

Booked this hotel when it was a mercure and then found it had been taken over. Good hotel, very comfy beds, great breakfasts and lovely restaurant staff. Very friendly staff generally. Very large gym with all equipment on fity floor and small swimming pool with sauna suite and steam room. The pool opens on the a terrace with sun beds for nice weather. If travelling in summer then request a room with air conditioning (although I believe this means you will only get a shower in your room and not a bath). Hotel location is very easy walk into city centre (much less than the advertised 10 mins) and is easy drive or taxi to Borussia football ground and the Warsteiner Hockey Park. We came to watch a hockey tournament and friends who stayed in various other hotels all agreed that if they returned they would stay in this one,

Formerly called "Mercure Parkhotel" now: "Dorint Parkhotel": Nice hotel at the edge of a beautiful park. My room was big, quiet and furnished tastefully. The breakfast was good with the normal Hotel buffet. The hotel has a spa. I would definetely go back there again.

The hotel has a great location, next to a wooded park area, and an easy walk to downtown and the train station. The room was small, and the resteraunt had limited hours and was expensive. Other resteraunts are within a 10 minute walk. Overal it was okay, nothing special.
