“Good value, shame about the smell of tobacco”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We thought this hotel was very good value, and very conveniently situated. Our room was small but satisfactory, although I was puzzled by the sofa seat which went under the desk. How could that be used? Bathroom was small but well-designed, window opened OK. Air con was not working at our visit, and the room was a little hot. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good, and so was the service.
Only problem was that we asked for quiet non smoking rooms, but both rooms smelled strongly of tobacco, and one was next to the lift.

Room Tip: No idea really how you can achieve a non-smoking room!

“GOOD HONEST SERVICE”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

I stayed here with my Brother and this was actually our second stay at the hotel. The Ibis group provide good but fairly basic accommodation which is excellent value for the price paid. The bathroom is very small but perfectly functional and the beds were comfortable. The location is excellent for the railway station, main road into/out of town and the town centre itself. There is a bar and the staff are always friendly. 24 hour food service is available and breakfast is served in the main restaurant. One area that this hotel did excel at was the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful. My brother left a bag with some bits and pieces that he had purchased in Essen and it was returned by post to the UK within 4 days and due to the honesty of the staff it was all there. Well done Ibis, we will be back.

Room Tip: Even number rooms away from the elevators.

“Very good hotel for a short stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

The rooms are very tiny, but they`re clean. Breakfast is very good (incl. Salmon and Sekt). For that price: Realy good. The location of the hotel is central. Rooms are quiet although the trainstation is close to it.
All in all: A good hotel, which is during a fair/exposition, a little bit expensive, but on other days during the year realy cheap, for what one can get.

“Fair Good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

The hotel is good with it's service, but sadly that room is small and without refrigerator, it's disadvantage made it's cleanness in vain. Clerk's attitude is satisfied with me, it's nice and really helpful with any thing I've asked for.

“business hotel, very good quality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

i was there for five nights in last november for a business trip with my husband. the hotel is quite close to the railway station so it is comfortable if you arrive by plane and then take train.it is a quite new, business style, quiet hotel. Our room was a bit little ( ok, but this is a business hotel! that's correct!) but absolutely comfortable! the bed was perfect (in a queen size) with a lot of pillows and the bathroom, althought a bit little, very well planned. the shower simply gorgeous! Cleaning service is very careful and the breakfast good. it was not included in our room and we were not aware of this, but the price is well given: a large buffet of ham, salami, cheese , vegetables, fruit, yogurt, bread, jams and more...in the evenings you can stay in the big lounge and receive friends. the only backward was the girl at the reception: she was quite rude with me as I made the check in and also after... i put a negative note for her in the hotel, she really deserved this! apart for this I have a really good impression and I think this year i will book at this hotel again!
