I have never payed so little for a hotel room in my life! I was impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel and the friendliness of the staff. Check-in was very smooth. I will caution people that there is no elevator in this hotel and plenty of stairs! This hotel is not for those with disabilities or tons of baggage. My room was on the 4th floor!

That said - i was intrigued by the ETAP way of doing things. No keys - only a code you are given at check-in which opens both the front door and your room door. The toilet and shower are in different "rooms" in a sort of plastic pod which is sectioned off. There is a sink in the opposite corner of the room. Everything worked well and was immaculate. There are 2 beds in a bunk bed formation. Not as strange at is seems and I imagine it would be very good for children.

Location is fairly good - a 10 minute walked to the Duisburg Hauptbahnhof. 15-20 minute walk to the Harbor area where the best restaurants are. Breakfast was 6.50 Euros or so and was more than adequate.

In short: Clean, friendly and cheap hotel! No Elevator

Stayed here several times. The hotel has been recently refurbished and the rooms are no more modern and have better lighting.
Really easy access of the autobahn.
Typical Etap, plastic modular shower and toilet, beds are OK, its clean, the breakfast a little overpriced. Good take away across the road for pizza and pasta and handy supermarket under hotel and petrol station next door.
Parking can be difficult the later you arrive.

From there you can reach the centre very easy by walking. We have biked from there to Oberhausen to go shopping in CentrO and we have biked allong the Rhein ant the Ruhr.
Our rooom was very quiet and the service was very good.

For 41 euro you get clean rooms, a washroom/shower combination tv.
Free wireless internet!!! -very good.
I always come back when I stay in Duisburg.
Reception has limited operating hours.
Nice staff. They will upgrade their rooms starting June 2011.
