The Intercontinental Hotel is located in a fashionable part of Düsseldorf along Königsallee, a couple of minutes walk from U-Bahnhof Steinstraße/Königsallee. Within easy walking distance of Aldstadt, shopping district and hauptbahnhof.
On arrival the lobby was fairly busy due to it being New Years Eve, there was a long queue of people waiting to check in, we used the Priority Check in counter and were checked in within minutes.
We booked a two night stay in a Club Room with Lounge access, we were upgraded to a Club Suite on the 10th floor. We were given a welcome letter and also given the opening times of the Club Lounge and what was available throughout the day. The hotel is of internal-atrium design and we used the glass lifts up to the 10th floor.
The suite was large and comfortable consisting of a sitting room with a three seater sofa, working desk and a flat screen television. There was a Nespresso coffee machine as well as a good selection of teas. On the coffee table there was a welcome present and treats.
The separate bedroom had a wonderfully sumptuous bed, there was a second flatscreen television with a large selection of domestic and international channels. There was a walk in wardrobe including a safe, the bathroom was well equpped and spacious with a good selection of toiletries.
The Club Lounge was excellent with attentive staff and always a huge selection of offerings including a large breakfast with hot items, snacks and cakes throughout the day and a large selection of alcohol including premium sprits served in the evening.
It was my partner’s birthday on the day of our arrvial and I happened to mention it at recpetion, and about an hour later a birthday cake and a card were brought up to the room, I was impressed the attention to detail.
An excellent hotel with a good range of facilities and would have no hesitation in returning.
