As a family of 5 we stayed 2 nights, in 2 rooms. We hadn't booked anywhere & walked in, the reception area was very nice & promising, the rooms were disappointing but given the price & time of day we decided to stay. Our children's triple was just o.k on every level, as was our twin. It felt 'cleanish' (I am fussy). During the night I was frequently awoken with the smell of cigarette smoke in the room, I can only think that it came from the night staff underneath our room, later on it was replaced by burning toast smells (I have a sensitive sense of smell, this didn't wake my husband). The hotel was fairly well placed to walk into Dussledorf & explore this amazing city, & superbly placed for the metro to travel to the 'Esprit' arena to see 'TakeThat' this all runs like clockwork; most impressive. We were advised on arrival that we may need to change room for our second night, which after the smells wasn't a problem, the room we moved to was cheaper & had a sink & shower, the private toilet was across the corridor. It all felt 'studenty' but the purpose of our visit was the concert & to explore the city so we put up with it. The breakfast was struggling to be average & slightly congested with people traffic. The cherry on top was delivered on checking out when it turned out the price per room given on arrival was incorrect & they wanted to charge nearly a third more! After much deliberation & the hotels failure to contact our check-in receptionist & our insistence that the police should be called, the police agreed we should pay the price quoted on arrival. So my advice would be; look at the room first & get the price in writing!
