OK for a couple of nights stay: the rooms are large; the staff are fine; the breakfasts are good German buffets. It does seem a tad tired, though. I guess that it was the height of modernity when first built, but it doesn't appear to have had serious investment ever since. A bonus was that the room rate (keenly priced) included free use of the urban transit system for the duration of one's stay: an unexpected - and most welcome - extra!

Hotel Mitte is centrally located and within walking distance of shopping areas, restaurants, tourist attractions and railway connections. Staff were courteous and eager to assist, the rooms were warm, clean and well kept. I felt safe and content in this hotel

Sounds like a british supermarket chain, doesn't it? Unfortunately it was what I found on most of the surfaces of the room I stayed in at this hotel. The elevator is old and run down and the hallways look cheap. Which is a shame because this hotel has the potential to be very good, if only the attention to detail was worked on.

The staff, however, were excellent.

Stayed here at the end of a German road trip, was here for 3 nights, central location and good reception area. Parking is located in the local Galleria shopping mall and you don't have that long to unload at front of hotel due to busy main road.
Our room was at the front of the hotel and as mentioned a busy main road,
The rooms were basic and by no means really clean, empty shoe boxes under the bed.
The breakfast was good with a wide selection and plenty of top ups.
I would query as to whether this is a hotel as it had more of a hostel feel to it, especially in the public area's
Dusseldorf is nice when walking by the river and there are some good shops, however compared to other parts of Germany and I have visited many I felt a little unsafe here, just my opinion but I doubt it would be a place I would jump to visit again
