Location, location, location! No one could deny that the location is just perfect if you like to be near to the old town or to see the Christmas markets. The hotel is situated one street away from main shopping street in Dusseldorf and its surrounded by bars and restaurants. We were there during the winter so never mind that our room was facing the noisy street /no traffic just people/ we had no problem with that noise with closed windows.
The breakfast there - just perfect, the best I have ever seen in a budget hotel!
Our double room was really big. It smelled not really nice but was very clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable.
What I didn't like was that when we arrived in the afternoon outside was -1C but the heater in our room was turned off and the window was open and it took ages to warm the room. When we went out next day we left both heaters - in the room and in the bathroom on but when we came back we found out that the one in the bathroom was off again!

Located in probably the dirtiest and noisiest part of the old town, this hotel is plain dirty, smelly and massively overpriced - a disgrace to German hoteliers. Just don't go there.

We had to move to the supposedly better room across the main hotel because everything wasn't working in the room we first checked into.
The place smells of the sewer system. We were told by the receptionist that it is really smells of sewer every time it rains... she even said that everything in that area also smells of sewer! Rooms smells of cigarette, decor is very outdated... noisy place... the worst place ever! Their breakfast is way over rated by the travellers. Definitely not a place to stay.

This small hotel was the best value I've had in Europe. Right in Old Town with lots of places to shop, eat and landmarks, too. Clean, staff very helpful, definitely recommend, breakfast really good.
