“awful”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2010

This is a bad hotel. By some unbelievably bad luck, my visit coincided with some kind of plastics exhibition/trade show and so between the 27th of october and 2nd of November, all the decent hotels were booked up. So i figured this couldnt be too bad. The 3 nights cost well over 400 and without breakfast.. The room smelt strongly of smoke. My room was small with a single bed and faced one of the main roads. There is also some major building work within walking distance and These factors made it really noisy in the morning. I was there on business and was told that they "were not allowed to give irons out" and that there is no ironing service, so i ended up having to wear creased shirts to my meetings. not acceptable. Not a good hotel or business travellers. the location is ok, but nothing spectactular. You arent in the Aldt stadt or anything like that. There is also a mention here for the italian round the corner trattoria ramanozzi (or something like that) - had an terrible filet steak there that cost 25 euros - very chewy. And they did not allow to pay by cards which is crazy.

However - dusseldorf is a cool city. The uerige - famous old traditional pub/brewery is worth seeing, the rhein is spectacular, the shops are good. went to a brazilian bar/restaurant and had an awesome steak with pineapple and pepper sauce - couldnt tell you where it was but look out for it.

“Ideal city break hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

Just returned from a 2 night break at this hotel. We booked through Bookings.com and paid 54 euros per night for a double room with breakfast (which was excellent). Only a 15 minute walk to either the old Town or River Rhine. Underground station 5 minutues walk and there are plenty of bars and restaurants close by.

Rooms are clean and service is good. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

“Nice place, after the refurbishment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2010

I have been at the Imperial in Düssledorf lately and the hotel looks great after the refurbishment. The staff is very helpfull and nice, the place is very clean and the breakfast buffet is fantastic, and it's included in the rate!
Thanks.

“Imperial was a good deal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2006

Our Central European vacation started in Dusseldorf. This hotel was arranged through a travel agent who knows my likes and dislkes. We stayed only one night prior to boarding a train for Prague. The hotel is in a fairly quiet business/residential area. The window in the room opened onto a beautiful quiet "backyard" park area. There was no a/c, but the weather was comfortable without it. Our interaction with the staff was minimal, but they were polite and helpful. We were within easy walking distance (1 mile or so) of the riverfront area known as Altstadt. This is a bustling area of shopping, dining and entertainment for locals as well as tourists. Hotel was a good value for our needs.
