This is a bad hotel. By some unbelievably bad luck, my visit coincided with some kind of plastics exhibition/trade show and so between the 27th of october and 2nd of November, all the decent hotels were booked up. So i figured this couldnt be too bad. The 3 nights cost well over 400 and without breakfast.. The room smelt strongly of smoke. My room was small with a single bed and faced one of the main roads. There is also some major building work within walking distance and These factors made it really noisy in the morning. I was there on business and was told that they "were not allowed to give irons out" and that there is no ironing service, so i ended up having to wear creased shirts to my meetings. not acceptable. Not a good hotel or business travellers. the location is ok, but nothing spectactular. You arent in the Aldt stadt or anything like that. There is also a mention here for the italian round the corner trattoria ramanozzi (or something like that) - had an terrible filet steak there that cost 25 euros - very chewy. And they did not allow to pay by cards which is crazy.
However - dusseldorf is a cool city. The uerige - famous old traditional pub/brewery is worth seeing, the rhein is spectacular, the shops are good. went to a brazilian bar/restaurant and had an awesome steak with pineapple and pepper sauce - couldnt tell you where it was but look out for it.
