A simple and clean hotel with a decent but not substantial breakfast. 2 minutes on foot to the main station and 5-10 to the shopping area and a few sites. I had a single room with shower and toilet, the room was adequate size. The place was quiet despite being near a main road. Furniture and decor was how things should be in a budget hotel, simple and clean. When budget hotels try to make it something more, you end up with furniture that falls apart. Wireless Internet was free and even a free travelcard for Dusseldorf. My only grumble was the bed duvet had plenty of small marks spots of cloth on it, it was definately washed but it gave the appearence that somebody had used it first! Otherwise the hotel was really clean. The receptionist at first couldnt find my booking, but ill give her the benefit of the doubt as my surname is long and Greek!

The Hotel Bahn is ideally situated to explore Dusseldorf. It is a two minute walk from Dusseldorf's main railway station and a ten minute stroll into the city to the shopping centre and Christmas Markets.

We have stayed here many times and found the hotel to be reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. We have always found Mr Marconi or a member of his team helpful. The rooms are a good size and the buffet breakfast is more than adequate to set you up for the day.

The train journey from Dusseldorf airport is about 20 minutes to Dusseldorf's central station, from there it is an easy two minute walk to the hotel.

The large Christmas Market in Dusseldorf has a great atmosphere, lots of stalls selling various christmas decorations, delicious hot food and of course gluhvein - great for keeping out the cold! If you want to go a little further afield then take the half hour train journey to Cologne or further on down the railway line is the former West German capital city of Bonn, which is 45 minutes away. On another occasion we took the wonderful two hour train journey from Amsterdam to Dusseldorf.

There are many places to eat around the hotel or in the town centre, also the railway station has many food outlets and a well stocked supermarket selling all sorts of food, drink and toiletries.

The Hotel Bahn does not offer 4 or 5 star luxury but is perfect for travellers either on a budget or looking for a convienient place to stay in Dusseldorf.
