Stayed here a couple of nights in June, chosen for convenient location, price, free wi-fi (see below) and inclusion of free transport card.
Located just 5 minutes walk from Hbf on a relatively busy street, so request a quiet room at the back if that bothers you. Single rooms are adequate size, but shower cubicle and separate toilet with wash basin sink are very small and reminded me of a ship's cabin facilities. Reception very friendly and efficient. Breakfast buffet included in my rate was adequate for me, usual continental fare: cereals, yoghurts, breads, cake, fruit, eggs, cold meats, cheeses, etc.
Free wi-fi did not work in rooms at the back of the hotel, which meant a trip to the corridor or down to reception area to get online. No biggee, but a bit of hassle. The free travel card is a real gem, and is offered by a few other hotels too. This enables you to free transport on all bus, tram, rail (not ICE trains) in the whole of the VRR area for the duration of your stay. A fantastic extra.
Only negative for me at this hotel is inter-room transfer of noise through the thin walls and door to the corridor. My immediate neighbour called home to South America at 10.30 PM for about 30 minutes each night and I heard every word. Another male guest a few rooms away had a female visitor arrive about 1 AM who was obviously very appreciative of his attentions. Their exercise routine and her vocal encouragement entertained the whole floor for about an hour or so until she departed. Nevermind, I'm sure my snoring reciprocated somewhat.
Overall, a great value hotel with helpful staff in a great location. But if a light sleeper then take earplugs.
