“Good value for basic stay - convenient if you're driving”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2010

My husband and I drove from Rotterdam and stayed the Easter weekend. We spent time in Neuss, Essen, Dusseldorf and Krefeld. Actually for these locations we should have stayed in Krefeld. Anyway, Acroa is nothing fancy but is everything basic you need from a hotel. Plenty of free parking spaces that belong to the hotel. Bed is okay. Breakfast is nice, a good variety, but the warm food runs out quite quickly and didn't get refilled for a long while. Bathroom is functional but crying for an update. Nice friendly staff.

“Convenient”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2009

We visited during the EuroShop 2008 when all hotels in the city were charging high rates. We got a 3 star hotel for a really expensive price with not much thrown in. The only really convenient thing about this hotel was that there was a small kitchennete in the room, so one could rustle up a meal after getting back late from the fair. Internet facility was not included in the price, the breakfast buffet was so-so (no eggs to order). The hotel was not able to provide a travel adapter for connecting the laptop plug into the socket. The breakfast room / reception was in the adjacent building to where the room was, so we had to go out in the cold even to get breakfast. It may be more value for money during other times of the year when they charge 3 star rates.

  • Liked — Kitchenette in the room
  • Disliked — Going to the next building for breakfast

“Good hotel, good neighbourhood, good connections”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2008

Easy to find with car. Free parking directly before hotel. Friendly and enthousiastic reception personnel. Big comfortable room. Self cooking possible in hotelroom. The price is big plus. Within 16 minutes by one and the same bus (almost at frontdoor hotel) in shopping centre Düsseldorf. No cab price € 18.- but € 4.40 for a couple. Next time hotel in Düsseldorf is definitely Acora!

“Good value for money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2008

This hotel was quite basic but clean & worth the very low price we paid. Bed was comfortable & room was fairly large. Very small bar. The hotel is a long way from the centre of the city but close to a train station. Unfortunately the train wasn't running for most of our stay.

Dusseldorf was a nice city to visit with plenty of good local beer & more bars in one street that anywhere I can think of.

“Nice Stay - Despite The Cigarette Smoke”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2007

My wife and I just left this hotel after a three night stay. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Even though it's suposed to be a non-smoking hotel, they allow smoking in the bar area which is directly across from the reception area. In addition, you can smell the smoke in the hallways.

The breakfast each morning was fine. A nice variety.

You can catch the bus to downtown Dusseldorf right around the corner from the hotel. It runs about every 20 minutes and it's about a 30 minute ride downtown. The free parking is convenient. There are several shops within a block of the hotel.

A nice visit. I just wish they'd do something about the cigarette smoke.
