“Nice Stay - Despite The Cigarette Smoke”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2007

My wife and I just left this hotel after a three night stay. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Even though it's suposed to be a non-smoking hotel, they allow smoking in the bar area which is directly across from the reception area. In addition, you can smell the smoke in the hallways.

The breakfast each morning was fine. A nice variety.

You can catch the bus to downtown Dusseldorf right around the corner from the hotel. It runs about every 20 minutes and it's about a 30 minute ride downtown. The free parking is convenient. There are several shops within a block of the hotel.

A nice visit. I just wish they'd do something about the cigarette smoke.

“Excellent value”

Acora is truly a little gem for the price.

The receptionists were very friendly and spoke excellent English. They recommended some restaurants in the area that proved to be very nice.

The breakfast was excellent, plenty of fresh choices to suit different appetites.

Rooms are fairly large and at least ours had a nice balcony. TV could have been a bit bigger for room this size.

Parking is available right at the front door and the hotel is easily reachable from the autobahn. Drive to Dusseldorf airport takes about 30 minutes.

“fantastic hotel”

Can only confirm the previous reviews. Everything about this hotel is first class. Room with small kitchenette and balcony was an unexpected bonus. Bit of a pain getting from the main railway station to the hotel as work was being carried out on the rail line. Best to get a taxi for about 16 euros to avoid any hassle. Bus No. 785 takes you right in to Alstadt and as previously stated only takes 20 minutes Dusseldorf is beautiful with the promenade right along the Rhine and also a fantastic shopping area. We were lucky when we visited because the annual fair was in town, There were colourful processions, marching bands, and on the last friday a wonderful fireworks display.
All in all a great time and I will be back to Dusseldorf and I will definately stay in the Acora Hotel.

“Great hotel, friendly service”

Fantastic hotel - cheap, clean and easy to reach by public transport with the S6 line from Duesseldorf city centre. Staff were fantastic and the breakfast buffet had an excellent selection. I would happily stay there again, and recommend others to do so too.

Only thing to note about this hotel is that it's not in central Duesseldorf - a bonus if you prefer somewhere quiet with parking, but not great if you have very limited time in the city.

Good for the price. Room comfortable with balcony and plenty of space. Staff helpful and efficient. Arrived quite late but desk recommended a pizza restaurant which delivered to the room complete with wine!! Close to Autobahn and shops. Watch out for speed cameras!
