“Dusseldorf - must see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2010

Just back from a short break in Dusseldorf, staying in Batavia Hotel. Located in the Asian Quarter, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, helping us with train timetables and city sights.
The rooms were very well presented with clean, wooden floors and an entrance lobby. Breakfast was more than adequate and set us up well for the day.
Nearby, there are lots of excellent restaurants, all located in a quiet neighbourhood. I would happily recommend this hotel for the reasons mentioned above as well as its excellent value for money.

“I loved it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2010

Wow. I loved this place. It was almost like a bed and breakfast. Very quiet and friendly. The breakfast was good. The lift was very small, but no problem. Lots of nice restaurants and bakeries in the area. I travel in Asia, so it was nice being in the Asian district. It was a short walk to the Ost Strasse subway stop. Next time, I will stay here for sure.

“Great price/quality, good location, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

We chose it for the comments on Tripadvisor and we were glad we did. It is very economic, it's clean, and within a short walk to the center of the town. The garage is right in front of the hotel. Breakfast is complete enough. Very quiet, we didn't know if our neighbours were up since there was no noise at all.

Internet access is supposed to be available, but I could not manage to hook into the wifi with the password provided.

I will certainly come back here for a no-frills hotel in a trip with friends.

“Average Hotel with Average Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 June 2010

This family run hotel is close to the central station, 800m-1Km, and within walking distance to the shopping area (4 blocks). The hotel is quite simple and definitely not a 3 stars (2 stars top), but it was clean and a good value/for money. However, the hotel organization/management is not the best – upon arrival we received a key to someone else’s room by mistake! We were glad the person was not there, but that is quite unacceptable. Also, other guests were screaming during the night – drunk after partying – which didn’t let us sleep much. We told management upon check out, but they didn’t do more than say they were sorry. Honestly I expected another behavior from them (offer some compensation, free breakfast, etc.), but I guess you cannot expect much from a 52 euros hotel. Overall I think it is a good quality for money hotel (if you are lucky to not have crazy guests). But if you feel you would like something better for that price, you should try to stay at Ibis Intercity, at central station. The central station has both metro and trains, so it’s easy to move around from there. And by the way, the pictures on Trip Advisor do not repesent the hotel fairly - check out the hotel website!

“Average hotel with good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2009

We arrived late at night in snow. When we got to our room both windows were open and the heating was off. It took about 24 hrs to heat up the room. We had twin beds that were very small and had to ask for an extra duvet to keep us warm. Overall the bed and pillows were comfy. The bathroom was nice and the shower was good and very hot. The room was very basic and not very comfortable or cozy. Not modern but a good size.

The breakfast was average. No English breakfast tea and no pastries but they did replenish the hot fresh bread rolls quite often which were nice. In general not much choice. On Sunday morning it was very busy and we had to wait for a table (there were only about 12 tables). In the end we had to share with another couple.

The location was good. very close to the main railway station and only about 10-15 mins walk from the middle of the old town where there were loads of bars/brauhauses and restaurants. Close to shops and just round the corner from the Schumacher Brewery (opposite the Best Western Savoy Hotel)

Hotel staff were friendly. They let us use the internet to check in for our flights adn check our departure for delays (due to bad weather). They printed out our boarding passes too. There is free internet but it wasn't working. The lift was very small but worked fine.
