Although this hotel is a bit "long in the tooth" (decorating looks very eighties), I found it to be a very pleasant place to stay and a very good value. The location is between the train station and the old city (it was a 15 minute walk to either). The hotel is on a quiet side street in a neighborhood with many sushi restaurants (none of which I had the chance to try). The room had a very comfortable bed, a super shower, free wi-fi access, a mini-bar, plenty of hangers, windows that opened for fresh air and both a clothesline and a great magnifying mirror in the bathroom. The hotel breakfast was a suberb continental buffet (it did cost 16 Euros, so was not cheap). The hotel staff were very helpful with maps and directions.

Stayed with partner from June 12 till 15th 2008. For a 4**** hotel it is disappointing. We were confirmed of a queensized bed: we got 2 single beds put together, different in heigth and width. They simply have no queensized beds! No confortable seats and coffeetable, instead: 4 kitchenchairs. Fittness-department: small, low ceiling, disappointing. The promised restaurant was closed for more than a year. Telephone, radio, bedlamp didn't work (and still didn't when we left), black hairs in restroom. Several bottle-tops on top of the fridge, all sorts of different sized (wine) glasses. Buffet-breakfast was fine, but scrambled eggs and bacon were already cold at 07.00 am. Reception: friday evening, saterday en sunday: understaffed, so don't ask anything extra. Writing your picture postcards with the Best Western ballpoints: do'nt, the ink gets messy on the cards and your fingers.
Visit the Best Western Savoy**** just around the corner: in the lobby & reception you will straight away recognize the difference.
In the Majestic we did not find the personal touch, comfort and elegance we had booked for in a 4-star hotel.
Mind you, the location towards the shopping district is fine and the reception staff is doing its best.
Majestic: a nice 3*** hotel.
By the way, we found a very nice Italian family restaurant nearby. See restaurants!

We stayed in the Best Western Hotel Majestic from 15.12.2006-19.12.2006 in a family room. There were 3 adults and 1 infant. We were visiting Dusseldorf for the Christmas Markets – well worth a visit.

Excellent location. Conveniently located close to the shopping district, approx 5 mins walk or there is a tram stop just outside the door. The hotel entrance is on a one way side street that is very quiet, although it is a little dark but it is near the beginning of the street so you don’t have to walk far. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel but it was permanently closed when we were there which was a bit unfortunate as it would have been convenient to be able to eat there at least one night.

The staff were extremely helpful and spoke excellent English. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Our room was located on the 6th floor. It consisted of an entrance room with a fold away single bed, table and 2 chairs and a second room with 2 single beds, dressing table etc. There was ample room for all of us. We had a concern regarding the windows as there was no safety catch on them. They opened completely and would be a huge risk if you were traveling with young children as there was no barrier outside the window. We had an 18 month old child with us, who luckily could not reach up to the window. If you are traveling with children I would request a room on a lower floor.

The bathroom was very clean and spacious but there was no window or extractor fan. The towels were very hard and only 1 per person was provided.

The hotel allowed us to store our baggage on the day of departure and organised a taxi for us to the airport.

Overall, we were very happy with the service, location and standards of the hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again should we be visiting Dusseldorf.
