this is definitely one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed in and i have seen ALOT. my room was an absolute catastrophe: no view, dirty bathroom, not sound proof doors or windows. especially in the morning, you can hear literally every step in the hallway or if your room is right next to the breakfast room( like mine was), you can hear when people are pouring their cereal into their bowl...not to mention the construction that was starting at 6am next door. the owners at the reception were not very helpful with the problems I had. I found it even worse when they actually send visitors away who apparently reserved a room, but couldn't stay because the hotel was over booked...my advise: stay somewhere else!

We stayed there for 2 nights. Hotel is located 5 minutes away (walk) from both the Dom and main train station on a nice pedestrian commercial street. Plenty of good restaurant and beer places are located nearby as well as the Rhine river. The room was great and located at the back of the hotel (rooms with a street views are apparently very noisy). It was clean and we had a huge terrasse with view of the Dom (only one available throughout the hotel) It was clean and quite large, except for the bathroom that is not bad but quite tight. Continental breakfast was really nice but you'll be charge 20 Euros for a 12 hours Wi-Fi access :( The guy at the reception had a doubtful humor but overall we would definitely recomment this hotel for a short stay in the beautiful city of Cologne!

Stayed at the Callas for the 7th time for the Christmas markets and as usual had a wonderful time. Ben and the staff are very helpful and friendly and the room was clean with everything we needed. You couldn't better the location and although we stay in the front rooms we like the buzz of the folk coming too and fro and the Christmas spirit. We will be returnikng yet again in 2010. The hotel has certainly been renoved to high standards since we made our first trip and is looking really nice. W"e wouldn't contemplate staying anywhere else.

Stayed in this hotal for 4 nights with two other friends to visit the Christmas markets. We had a triple room which was very basic but very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble. Most importantly the hotal was in a perfect location and walking distance to everything. Two minute walk to the Cathedral and Christmas markets . Train station nearby too. We had a wonderful time and will return . Only negative point I can make is that the street outside the hotel in the evenings can be noisy but it didnt seem to bother us as we were always out til late anyway and enjoyed the evening buzz . A few glu weins help !!
