My online booking didn't inform the rooms didn't have private bathroom, bathrooms only at the end of corridor.
Plain and poor quality rooms.
Hotel needs refurbishing urgently!
Only positive thing: Location!

This hotel is located right near the Koln Cathedral. The heart of the city is on the door step.

The staff are friendly and offer help with all sorts of questions you may have.

The rooms are plain but comfortable. Toilets and showers are down the hall but are clean and in good order.

The breakfast is to die for. Continental breakfast like only the Germans can do. Eat up big and enjoy the city. For that matter just keep eating because the city is awash with fine places to enjoy a meal.

This has got to be the worst hotel that I have ever seen. I expected basic as it was a last minute booking but I didn't realise that accomodation like this could class itself as a hotel. One Star?? Not sure how it qualified. Upon arrival I paid upfront and was given a key and a tv remote in return. The room had excrement on the walls, a lino floor, graffiti on the walls and unsavoury characters hanging about outside my door. I am sure it is a brothel. When I complained the receptionist just laughed. As a single female I did not feel safe staying here especially as there was shared bathroom facilities would would of meant leaving the room during the night. I did not stay at this hotel and was not offered any reinbursment for the 2 nights i was made to pay for upfront (even though it was only late afternoon and they had to time to fill the room). A cosy doorway outside would be more appealing than this hell hole.

Budget "hotel" very convenient for a short stay in central Cologne. An easy walk to/from the train station and everywhere else. Rooms are basic but they are - and the entire places is - immaculately clean including the shared baths (other rooms are en suite). Descent enough coffee, juice and rolls in the breakfast room (cold cuts and cheese appeared not to be fresh) but if you have an early train to catch, you might be better off eating at the nearby McDonald's or at the train station. Rooms facing the street are very noisy at night. We dubbed it the Hotel No Sleep on the 1st night's stay but it was better on another night; still a good idea to bring ear plugs. A good choice for students, backpackers or adults on a budget. Helpful staff; cold beer for sale in lobby. The Hotel Ibis adjacent to the train station would be even more convenient and I would probably choose it next time if the price was about the same. Still, not an unpleasant place in a very nice city.
