Great location - just 5 minute walk from Kolner Dom. Very clean and spacious room with a huge shower. Breakfast was a selection of old meats and cheeses which was ok and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay there again if we went back to Cologne.

We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed every aspect. The staff were incredibly helpful and Marcus suggested places for us to eat - each of which was perfect. The rooms are modern and "hip". Our room had a view of the top of the Dom, which made it very special. I sat each morning at the long desk under the window, looking out at the Dom and planning our daily activities. Breakfast was a great selection of cured meats and cheeses, cappuccino made to order, and friendlily waitstaff. It is located 15 minutes out of the city center, which we preferred because it was quiet. A nice walk along the river every morning to the center of town was a delight. Overall, a great choice if you want a small boutique hotel in Köln!

Well, perhaps my expectations were too high? I don't know, but words like "stylish" or "sleek" or anything like that simply do not apply here, don't let anyone tell you differently. It is a modest, quaint, old fashioned place, nice in that way. Small-ish. Basic. Very basic. The breakfast was extremely basic, my least favorite of my three-week vacation. We only stayed one night and I have to say I am glad about that, so I guess that is not a good sign. On the up side, they had a ceiling fan, and I love those, and lots of tv channels, which was good since it was raining the night we got there and falling into the bed for some telly was very cozy. We also stayed at the Radisson however and it was exponentially better.

Casa Colonia is so stylish and sleek! And in a great location that is a 15-min walk to everything but still quiet. We loved it! We had a large, king room. The breakfast buffet was nice and easy. Marcus gave us the BEST advice about local "in the know" places to eat and every place we tried was 120% delicious. He recommended a great German restaurant, and Italian place that we went to twice, and a chic nouveau place that had as good design as food. The hotel was a little noisy in the morning because of construction, but earplugs helped immensely...I never travel anywhere without earplugs. Lastly, Marcus saved us a lot of dough we would have otherwise spent on parking by recommending we just pay for parking tickets vs. paying for the daily pass, since the parking police only come by sporadically. We ended up getting no tickets at all!
