The unhelpful Booking.com took my credit card number to be "charged on the day of booking" and guarantee a room for late arrival (I would be there after the 6pm deadline for other types of reservation). My card was never charged which was an indication the hotel was full. I emailed the hotel to ask them to confim that they would have a room for me for later arrival - NO RESPONSE. I doubt anyone in the hotel even speaks any English or ever reads any emails. I emailed again 3 days later and told Booking.com to cancel since the hotel could not guarantee a room.
Guess what, now the hotel decided to charge me for the room I never used (I even emailed them in German to complain - of course, NO RESPONSE). I doubt this hotel exists but it is on Google Map so the building is probably there. Booking.com could not care less that no one in the hotel seems to speak English or that the email address for the hotel is bogus (or at least no one ever replies to emails). It even took 5 emails to Booking.com to get the address to send a complaint to their head office.
This was a simple matter - an email to the hotel asking to confirm there is a room. They chose to ignore the email. Booking.com is of no use - if there is a problem, it's not their problem, "contact the hotel directly" using the invalid email address provided, or learn fluent German overnight and ring them!
I would strongly recommend that you stay elsewhere. A hotel reserved online that cannot respond to emails is a joke.
