We stayed here for two nights and must say it was very comfortable. The air-con worked and founf the room smart and quiet (we stayed in the basement rooms as we requested non-smoking but there were windows). The TV didn't work but we didn't report it as we were busy enough sightseeing.

The breakfast was good (hot and cold) and restaurant provided reasonably priced meals afternoon/evening. There is also a local pub opposite which opens in the evenings and does food (and plenty of cigarette smoke as in most pubs in germany!!). The prices here were good and it was relaxed. There's not much else in the area.

The main drawback is the distance: it's a good 5 - 6km to the city centre and you need COINS for the tram. This was our main problem. It's 2.40 euro a single and 7.10 euro for a day ticket but to get this in coinage for multiple persons is not easy and can hike the cost of your stay so I would suggest saving your euro coins before coming here! I think a kiosk in the city centre does tickets so maybe you'll have more luck there. If you're staying in Cologne for 2/3 nights this place is ideal but longer then you might want to find somewhere closer. That said it was excellent value for money and I couldn't get anything near the price in the city centre.

I have been there last week, and I have no complaints about it. Hotel service, rooms, breakfast. Everything was perfect. I think I never slept so good before in my life. I strictly recommend this place.

This hotel is very conveniently located if you use Cologne's great public transport, which I do. It's on the tram line and very close to a station, somewhat far out, but still convenient.
Very friendly reception staff. Free Internet terminal in the lobby. In-room Internet is expensive, though.
They have the usual vending machines for sodas on alternate floors.
The hotel does not have any air conditioning, and therefore summer is entirely the wrong time to be staying there, hence my average rating for the sleep quality; and my recommendation is subject to this condition - if the weather's hot, avoid going there.

I stayed at this hotel twice whilst on a coach tour. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The room was modern and very clean. The first night we stayed and had breakfast the following morning. The choice of food was endless and it was all fresh and very nice. The lady who was waiting the tables was also very helpful. The second night we stayed we had evening meal which was a fantastic buffet. I would stay in this hotel again.
