We stayed here because it was the official hotel for the junior squash tournament in which my teenaged son was playing. This is a fairly large, modern hotel and our room was very comfortable and air conditioned - huge plus during an extreme heat wave! There is a lovely spa, two restaurants, bar, and smallish gym at the hotel. Location is very good, only a twenty minute walk over the river to the Dom or street cars are available just in front of the hotel. There is a good choice of medium priced restaurants in the neighbourhood. Where the hotel really shines, is their front desk staff who are friendly yet businesslike, very knowledgeable on public transportation, local sites, local restaurants, etc. Just ask a question and you will receive all necessary information! They are also extremely tolerant as the hotel was literally under siege during our stay! There were over two hundred teenaged squash players staying in the hotel, most of whom were not adquately chaperoned. The hotel's staff was really stretched to the limit but they were always courteous and professional.

One must pay for wifi here, and I purchased a pass that did not work in my room so I took our laptop or iphone to the lobby when I needed to connect. Upon checkout, the front desk offered to deduct the charge from my bill, but as I did have some use of the service I suggested 50% as a compromise.

PS The bathroom door is frosted glass which horrified my teenaged son - "mom! don't look"

+ Sauna,haman, jacuzzi and swimming pool is of good quality and clean.
+ Free towels, slippers and bathrobe.
+ Free parking between the hotel and Lufthansa building at 2 mins. walking (and quite save)

- Stains on the room carpet floor and sticky bathroom floor
- Bed was very poor : My weight is 100 kg, my girlfriend 60 kg : when I moved, she
shaked almost out of the bed.
- Very very very expensive to drink in the bar : 3.40 euro for a coke of 20 cl.
- Sauna was stated as 'no bathsuit allowed', but people were in the sauna with clothes.
- Elevator is very slow
- Parking at hotel is 25 euro a day !!

I have been about 5 times to this hotel. Spacy, modern rooms, very good service and generally friendly personnel and an exquisite breakfast budget. The best breakfast buffet I ever had in my entire life in the entire world. What is really exceptional about this hotel is the quietness. I have never been deranged by noise from other rooms.

The spa is also quiet good and mostly not crowded. Food and drinks are also good and the bar and "stube" is agreeable but quiet expensive.

You should only avoid this hotel during big events in the "messe" because the hotel gets really crowded (except ofcourse if you are attending the event yourself). As the name says, the hotel is at the "messe" and not in the city center. There is however a tramstop just across the road. The tram comes every 10 minutes and it takes only 10 minutes to get to the city centre.

From the trainstation, you'll have to take the tram but change once (consult the site of the public transportation) or take a taxi which will cost you about 15 EUR.

I really enjoyed my short stay at this hotel. The primary reason for me giving this hotel a high rating is because I found the staff to be so good - they were always cheerful and helpful.

The room was not huge but adequately sized with a large walk in wardrobe area. The room was clean, comfortable and modern with a good air conditioning/heating unit. Other facilities in the room included a filter coffee maker and all the usual varieties of tea and coffee, a safe, minibar, television with international channels, wi-fi and cable internet access at a surcharge.

The hotel is right by a tram station and a five minute walk to the taxi rank and train station. The hotel is a ten minute taxi ride to the tourist centre of the city and cost me about 8 euros each way.
