I can only recommend this little Hotel: It has everything you might want, great service, nice spacious clean rooms and a great breakfast buffet. We stayed there for a visit to the Mediterrana Spa nearby. I noticed the Hotel also has a nice outside area (we did not use).

This small quaint hotel is everything that my wife and i and the couple we travelled with would expect from a hotel. The staff especially the people at the front desk were extremely helpful and friendly. Although the rooms were on the small side, they were bright and refreshingly clean. The breakfast was awsome in the typical German style, with something for every taste, even had lox. The ten minute walk to the tram station and 20 minute ride to the center of the city was well worth the stay at this wonderful hotel. We intend to stay there again on our next trip to Germany.

During a Trade Fair season I had to be in Cologne where all hotels were fully booked or extremely overpriced. Hotel Silencium is a small hotel in a wooded residential district that embued a sense of peace and tranquility no matter what time of day or night. Truly lovely grounds, very comfortable rooms (I had a mini suite with balcony) and enormously helpful and efficient staff. I highly recommend it. It is however, rather far from the city center (22E taxi fare or a short walk takes you to the local UBahn train station and you can reach the city center sights of Cologne within 20 minutes.
