We stayed in this hotel in November 2008 for two nights. The reception was very friendly and helpful. They borrowed us umbrellas and when we took them back damaged due to the heavy wind they did not look angry or made any reproaches. They organized us a breakfast package when we left early from the hotel, plus they called us a cheap taxi (a bmw!) to the airport. They cared much more about us than usual hotel receptionists would do.
The room was good, too, maybe the carpet looked a bit worn, but otherwise everything was fine.
May sound strange, but the early morning image of cars arriving from the Autobahn looked also kinda romantic from the room window.
The breakfast was generous in the first morning, even second morning's breakfast package was good.
The hotel is located in Deutz, so east of the Rhine river. There is a tram stop maybe 300-400 meters away taking you to downtown Cologne. There is also an S-Bahn station a bit further on. This is not the perfect location if you want to sightsee in Cologne, but in other cities you would not deem a 10-15-minute ride to downtown that horrible.
I would stay in this hotel again, especially if the actual price is below 100 EUR.
