“confortable and clean room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2011

Pleasent staff, confortable and clean room, near to the city center (20 minutes) (use line 3 - 3 blocks away - Buchforst U Bahn Station). Free parking. Good breakfast.

A suggestion for a short trip from Koln is the small city of Aachen, only a one hour drive away, where, among nice fountains, wonderful bakeries and nice small squares, you will find Charlemagne tomb in the beautiful and unique gothic Palatine Chapel.

“Useless place.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2010

We booked and prepaid 4 rooms.
without any warning when we arrived from Cyprus late in the night at the reception they said they had no rooms left!!!!!!!!!!
They arranged and put us in 2 different hotels one of them the new yorker...
They destroyed all the business we had to do.
Very expensive drinks.

“car park not free anymore”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2010

I've stayed here before a few times and have done reviews but during my recent stay I was shocked to discover that they now charge 10 euros per 24 hours in their car park. When I complained to reception about this new charge I was told you have to pay that in any city centre hotel. But yes, this is not a city centre hotel, its out in the burbs. I pick this hotel as its handy for the autobahn and used to pop in and out to visit places like bonn in the car. I was due to stay again in november, but I'm now having to rethink my plans.
Mind I've also noticed that they have given up filling the mini bar, with the supermarket outside open 6 - 24, whats the point.

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2010

We used this hotel as a base for the Christmas Markets, it was a little bit out of the city but public transport was good if a little pricey, (cost as much as Britain). Good sized room, clean and comfortable, staff helpful and it was good value.

“Good hotel if you want to stay in Deutz”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2009

We stayed in this hotel in November 2008 for two nights. The reception was very friendly and helpful. They borrowed us umbrellas and when we took them back damaged due to the heavy wind they did not look angry or made any reproaches. They organized us a breakfast package when we left early from the hotel, plus they called us a cheap taxi (a bmw!) to the airport. They cared much more about us than usual hotel receptionists would do.
The room was good, too, maybe the carpet looked a bit worn, but otherwise everything was fine.
May sound strange, but the early morning image of cars arriving from the Autobahn looked also kinda romantic from the room window.
The breakfast was generous in the first morning, even second morning's breakfast package was good.
The hotel is located in Deutz, so east of the Rhine river. There is a tram stop maybe 300-400 meters away taking you to downtown Cologne. There is also an S-Bahn station a bit further on. This is not the perfect location if you want to sightsee in Cologne, but in other cities you would not deem a 10-15-minute ride to downtown that horrible.
I would stay in this hotel again, especially if the actual price is below 100 EUR.
