Beware when you plan your vacation in Cologne, we were unlucky and we planned our trip during Furniture Fair and we ended up paying 168€ per night for a hotel which normal price is 85€ per night. Other than that the location of the hotel is great, and the breakfast is well and plenty with a lot of variety. The hotel has a WiFi and for that reason they do not provide a PC for the guest, personally I prefer the PC because I do not like to carry my portable and the screen of mobile is not big enough. Anyway is a pleasant clean hotel and if you get it in the right price you will not be dissatisfied.

Expected this to be ok - but it was terrible. Room hideuosly noisy. Hotel overlooks the busiest road in Cologne and has dirty curtains. Tried to change the room, but the manager - a very small Turkish man - came across as rather arrogant - obviously something to prove. Better hotel across the road in the Appartel Am Dom.

I was in Koln in December with my little boy. It was a great holiday for us !
Merian Hotel is very good located, near turistic center and train station, in a very quiet street.
The room was very good size, with large windows, carpet, soundproof and very clean.
I liked best the beautiful breakfastroom, very nice decorated also with large windows. The breakfast was more than good.
Hope we will be back again !

Very helpful staff, very cheap wireless Internet - e2.50 for the entire three-day stay. Right beside the main train station, very close to the tourist centre of Cologne. Clean, pleasant and good for the price.
