I stayed in the hotel twice this year. Rooms are modern furnished - no carpets which is nice for me and my allergies. Rooms' layouts are quite individual. Try to avoid rooms in the first floor, because it can noisy (hotel staff preparing breakfast and other F&B).
The location is pretty perfect, literally around the corner of the Dome and with some nice Kölsch pubs around the corner. Sometimes they serve breakfast in their Bistro on the ground floor, where you have a nice view on the place back of the Dome. Overall good value for money.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in July 2010.
The Hotel had a great location right in the centre of the city - very close to the cathedral, museums and train station. We could just pop back for a coat, or a short rest without going out of our way.
The room was clean and spacious, and there was a kettle tea/coffee in the room which was a bonus.
Breakfast was standard plentiful buffet - cheese, meats, breads, yoghurt, fruit etc
I would certainly stay there again.

i was attending a trade show in Cologne and booked the EDEN early - 4 rooms. The location is magnificent ,EDEN is part of the FRUH brewery and is beside the Cathedral. close to the altstadt (old town). The room was fine 2 single beds adjacent to each other. Poor TV channel choices. The en suite was well equipped but the shower was very small - i mean very small. Its about a 10 minute taxi ride back to the exhibition center. But we socialized around the immediate area each evening.The upstairs restaurant is great - real German food!

My husband always insists that we stay away from hotels near the train station, but after reading other tripadvisor reviews about this place I insisted we stay here. I'm so glad I did! This hotel is very convenient to the center of Cologne. We even had a view of the Dom church from our hotel room window!

Other positives: the room was spacious, modern and clean, and so was the bathroom. What a great bathroom! The breakfast was included with the room cost (which we love) and it was extremely delicious. There was eggs, meat, cheese, different breads, yogurt, cereals, milk, juice, coffee tea, and my favorite thing was this muesli stuff that was made up of oats and fruit soaked in milk. I'm not sure exactly what it was, but it was great.

Only problem: the internet was terrible when I was there. First of all, you have to pay for it, so be warned of that. Now, I don't mind paying for internet if it works! Well, at this place it didn't and it was very frustrating because I had a lot of work I could not get done there. I won't bore you with anymore details, just know that the staff was very understanding and accommodating and refunded my money. So, there was a happy ending at least.

I would totally stay here again!!!! I just might not stay here if I had any major work to do and needed solid internet access. Hence only 4 stars out of 5.
