For the room rate I paid, the room is good value. Relatively comfortable with decent toiletries.

Room amenity and service were poor. In the first room I was allocated, the safe wouldn't work. After talking to the reception, they said they could move me to another room. After 1 hour waiting, heard nothing. I chased the reception and finally got a different room. In this room the bathroom wasn't enclosed, and the shower door opens right next to the room entrance. If you walked out of shower naked, anyone walking into the room would see you in that form. Also in this second room some of the lights wouldn't work.

Room is old and tired. I was in a premium room as well so I expected better. Some of the cupboards were located such that it was impossible to open the cupboard doors. The keycard holder which you need to place your key in to have power in the room is so far away from the safe. SInce you need to use the key to open the safe , if you do so at night, there would be no power (no lights) in the room. It's very impractical.

Breakfast was decent. In room internet is decent.

Location - about 10 min walk to Hauptbanhof. Reasonable distance and easy to walk to provided you know where it is located and have a good map. Relatively safe at night. Close to the Dom. Plenty of food choices within 15min walk.

Overall, bad experience. I wouldn't recommend coming here.

I booked this hotel from Michelin guide, but now I'm wondering what is criteria to get listed in their guide? Room was tiny,with outdated design but very clean. Night stand with built in radio. Awful pillow. Only TV was new. Outdated bathroom with strange wooden shelf and paper holder. Noisy fan. Shower difficult to adjust temperature. No safe, no minibar.
Nothing like described on their website. I figured only one part of hotel is refurbished with those beautiful bright rooms. They should include REAL description and REAL pictures of 'classic rooms' on their site. Definitely not 'home away from home' as they say!
Location of the hotel is excellent, 5 minutes to dome and train station. But one can hear trains passing though.
Good breakfast, variety of rolls, cereals and cheese. Waitress doesn't seem interested in guests; one morning I didn't manage to get a coffee.

I have just checked out of the Hotel Harmonie and would never return. My room was the size of a cupboard, with absolutely no facilities at all - no hairdryer, drinks facilities, air-conditioning, minibar etc - which, for 99 euros a night, was not acceptable. Furthermore, when requested to leave my towels on the floor if I wanted them replaced, I did not expect to have to call reception when I got out of the shower dripping, after the dirty ones had been taken away, but not replaced. Breakfast was adequate, but with only one hot dish - scrambled egg each day, only one loaf of bread - unusual for a German hotel, and a very limited selection of juices, not brilliant. I assume that, as a solo business traveller, I am not expected to return and, even though I stay regularly in Cologne, I won't. However, it appears that double rooms are better than singles, so, as the location is superb - 3 mins from the station and 5 from the Cathedral - so couples are obviously more welcome than singles. You have been warned!

i have stayed there for 2 nights from 31 jan.the location can't be beaten,it is in a safe,quit street 250 meters from koln main statin,Dom,and the main shopping streets.the rooms are good in size,very clean,modern,LCD TV,safe,hairdryer,and all complementary accessories.reception staff are youngand extremely helpful.breakfast was an international buffet with a wide range of good quality food.i highly recommend the classic harmonie hotel and definitly will stay there when i am back in koln.highly recommended.
