Have just returned from a car racing break with friends in Germany and we have spent 2 nights at the Auerberg Hotel. I am not a big fan of design hotels (too cold for my taste) but this hotel was an nice exception - very fashionable with great decoration and colour combination without you feeling inside an ice cube.
Breakfast should satisfy all tastes - their buffet has basically all you can imagine to start your day. Their staff was the most friendly and helpfull from any hotel I stayed in Germany. Unfortunately they lacked a bit of German order and organization - there were rather few minor issues I have noticed (but being from hotel industry I could be rather picky) - burned light bulbs not changed for 3 days, no hand towels in public restrooms one morning, very overpriced water in the minibar (even the receptionist apologised for it being "so expensive!"). More dramatic one was when another guest walked into my friends room first night at 3am - he stayed in his room before and reception did not tell him about the change nor reprogram the door lock. If you don't mind similar issues this is the place to stay and a great value for money. If you ask me - I would stay there again hoping the management had time to get things right.

The interior, rooms and dining experience deserves 5 stars, that's it.
Everything else can be better from A-Z. No bell boy to help with the luggage, no valet parking, no proper service at the front desk or at the bar. Why 5 stars overall?

I stayed here on business last week. The hotel decor is lovely - as are the rooms, but unfortunately our stay was a comedy of errors.

It started when our booking was made for 1 room instead of 5, so two colleagues had to stay in a different hotel - we were told the receptionist had gone home sick which caused the mistake (!?). Of the three of us left, two had to change rooms - one due to faulty lights and the other due to a faulty door lock.

When they ran out of beer, messed up the bill for dinner and I was charged two significantly different rates for two nights stay in the same room, it became clear that this wasn't the five star hotel it pretends to be.

Don't get me wrong, the hotel looks nice, the staff are friendly, but it was so badly organised and the attention to is detail non-existent.....

A very frustrating place to stay!

I'm a regular guest there and haven't been in any hotel getting even close in the area when it was booked out.

It has clean very nice rooms, free internet connection, excellent service. Also breakfast is very good and any special orders (cappuchino, eggs other than scrambled etc) are no problem at all.

Also the restaurant serves excellent food at a surprisingly very fair price. The wellness area (pool, sauna) is a very neat way too relax after a tough workday. It's also free of charge.

Usually rates are between 80 and 150 € are available.
