I've stayed at Hotel Aigner probably six times in the past six years--in other words, every time I go to Bonn--for weeks at a time. It's a family-owned place on a lovely old street just a couple of blocks from the bustle of the center of town--and even closer to the tram stop. Because it's in a real neighborhood, the visitor gets to see something of real life. And because it's so close to the center, there's a wide variety of restaurants within easy walking distance.

It's an unassuming little place situated in two old houses, with an incredibly helpful staff and a delicious, bountiful breakfast. Wi-fi is cheap, and parking is available. Bikes too.

The staff are great, friendly and helpful. All of them. The location is central. The breakfast is delicious. The rooms are clean, well equipped and spacious enough. The wifi is cheap and fast. What more do you want?

Central location, quiet, nice and simple place. Stuff is ok, but not too much concerned about you. We had a kitchenette with additional small bed, I wouldn’t like to sleep on this bed if I was the 3rd person. The furniture is in good condition, but looks 30 years old.

Close to city train. Very clean and comfortable.Good breakfast selection. We did not have a car but it may be hard to find parking here.

Besides the obvious places in Bonn and Cologne to visit, take a trip to Drackenburg Castle (Dragon Castle). You can take the local train, which is quite close, and go to Konigswinter. (I think it was the second Konigswinter stop. Double check with hotel) Get the package and see the reptile house, the castle and take the tram to the top)

Also University of Bonn has a beautiful Botanic Garden which is free to get in (donation).
