The hotel is very near tram and bus stops, but is located on a relatively quiet street (unless it's an important football game night, then the bar below can get a bit crazy). Our room was fairly large, with a good bathroom as well. The English-speaking staff is very amiable and helpful. The breaksfast was good with a limited variety of breads or buns, but there were also the usual fruits, cereals, and yoghurts, as well as very deliciously cooked eggs, bacon, and sausages.
Disadvantages:
There is no lift! We were on the 2nd floor and the walk was good for the heart, but if you don't like stairs, this is not the hotel for you.
There was no mini-bar for us and the TV is small.
The garage, a half-block away, is small and maybe some spots may take some maneuvering to get into. That's ok, but also you cannot access the garage after 10 pm.

There are two aspects of the hotel that I enjoyed: first, its excellent location (only 5 minutes from the central station, in a pedestrian zone) and the breakfast (with a wide range of choices and with very friendly service). The rooms, however, are smallish, and even if the pedestrian zone outside would make you expect quiet nights, there is a lot to keep you awake, such as the elevator or the buildings under construction facing the entrance side of the hotel. While the hotel brochure tells you that the place has been recently refurbished, it has kept a certain Wirtschaftswunder flavor and definitely refrained from turning into a designer hotel.

Lieber Gast, vielen Dank für die Bewertung unseres Hauses. Ich freue mich, dass Sie mit den Mitarbeitern und unserem Frühstück zufrieden waren. Das Hotel selbst haben Sie aufgrund des Alters des Hauses nicht so gut empfunden. Dies bedauere ich sehr. Wir feiern in diesem Jahr das 50 - jährige Hotelbestehen und so sind die einen oder anderen baulichen Dinge des Hauses nicht auf dem modernsten stand ( haben aber durchaus auch einen gewissen Charme). Die Hotelzimmer selber sind laufend renoviert und dem technischen Stand der Zeit angepasst. Wir hoffen durch unseren Service und der persönlichen Ansprache unserer Gäste das nüchterne Äußere des Hotels auszugleichen. Es ist schön, dass Sie das Haus anderen Gäste empfehlen.
