Stayed for 3 nights on a coach trip to the German Xmas markets,room was very small at the back of the hotel so away from the busy road so managed to get to sleep ok,but saying that the beds creaked when you moved,however found it was very adequate for what was needed as we didn't spend that much time there.The staff were fiendly especially the bar staff,food was adequate & hot!!!!!!!!!!!

4 gentlemen on short excursion of The Netherlands and Aaachen stayed in 2 double rooms. Both functional but very clean. The hotel is still in the 1970's but as if it were still there as opposed to being tired. Not exactly the most busy bar / restauarnat - a locals card game was in session last night. But everyone was very friendly at the hotel. Town centre is 20 mins away or at night 8 and half euro taxi ride. parking on street - easy and the 13 euro breakfast is a bit steep so go out of front door - turn righ - turn right at corner of hotel bimble for 7 mins to crossroads there is a bakers - take away coffee rools

We stayed three nights at this at hotel, and had a very non-pleasant experience when we were supposed to leave.

At the first evening of our stay, we checked the taxiprices to Dusseldorf international airport, and the lady in the reception told us that it was 75 euro.

The last evening of our stay, we ordered a taxi through the reception for the next morning. When the taxi came, he told us that it would cost 150!! euro to the airport.. We checked this up with the reception again, and then the same lady who had told us that the price was 75 euro told us that we HAD to order it via her. (we ordered the taxi through the reception, but with another lady)

We had no choice, so we just had to take the taxi and pay 150 euros to the airport.. Afterwards we have checked, and the normal prices to the airport lies at 75 euro. Therefore - we were fooled.

This is terrible bad service from the reception..

We are dancers and were attending the Contra Dance Convention in Aachen weekend of 24/25th Sept. We had a very pleasant time at this hotel. The staff were extrememly pleasant and helpful and the rooms were clean and tidy. A reasonable price. A swimming pool, sauna, bowling alley. Lift may be small but they work which is what bmatters. Outside area for sitting when it's fine and it was hot our weekend.. Plenty of buses into town. If you want very modern Holiday Inn, that's where you go.
