Hotel was OK, apart from 2points:
- our room 425 smelled like cigarettes, allthough we requested a non smoking room. When asking another one at reception, none was available
- the sheets are a bit uncomfortable as it is one long sheet rather than a bottom and a top one. This is a minor inconvenience.

Other than that, great location, good price, nice breakfast and friendly staff.

The hotel is pleasant, and central to town for an overnight stop. The breakfast was good, but room was extremely small and the bathroom/shower room the smallest I've ever seen!

I was happy to stay once again at the Hoterl Ibis Aachen Normaluhr. Over the last four years or so I have stayed there at least once yearly. For my "business" purpose, it is perfectly located in Aachen and I can always count on a clean and welcoming room as well as a warm smiling welcome from the staff. The breakfast room is pleasant and very well stocked with all that one can ask for. I already know that in about 6 months from now I shall be returning to Aachen and I shall count on staying at Ibis Normaluhr.

This visit, however, there was one drawback ..... I make my reservation over the internet and much to my surprise the internet price quoted was even higher than the Hotel Ibis Marschiator in the same city. When I arrived at the Normaluhr I found, as in past visits, the price per room indicated on the outside wall as being €55.00 but the internet price was quoted me (and I had paid when making the reservation) as being €72.00. The conclusion I draw from this is that I shall indeed return to this Ibis hotel but I shall not make a reservation in advance but shall try my luck at paying upon arrival.

Other than this, however, I highly recommend this hotel to all.

Good little hotel however .. they have ruined the breakfast room by trying to make it "modern". Breakfast used to be a pleasant experience, now it's like eating in a canteen. The rooms are typical Ibis rooms - small and standard, you must be fairly slim to use the bathroom. Good location and pleasant helpful staff make up fo it. Price is just ok, if you book early enough.
