I booked an Apartment on the hotel's own website. The rate for apartments is higher than for standard rooms, but I booked it because I particularly wanted to take advantage of the larger room size. However, we were allocated a standard room on arrival. The rather sullen front desk clerk had made no mention of this when we checked in, so we only realised when we entered the room. The response when I complained was "there are no apartments available, but nevertheless we are going to charge you the rate that you booked". No apology, no explanation of how a reservation made directly on the hotel's website did not secure an apartment, and no offer of a discount or other form of compensation. A further complaint the following morning revealed that a guest already staying in the one of the apartments had wanted to extend their stay, so we were kicked out without warning. I asked for free breakfast for two in compensation, but that was refused.
The hotel building and facilities are fine, although the service in the restaurant was painfully slow and the quality of the food distinctly average. The low standard of customer service means that I will not be returning.
