We stayed for two nights at this hotel from the NH chain. Suprisingly neither the architecture, nor the interior design of the rooms or public spaces was in the traditional NH style. It actually was a nice susprise and bestowed some unexpected personality to the otherwise very sterile and predictable NH hotel interiors. The room we were given was spatious and clean and looked out over the garden and green area at the back of the hotel. The hotel is located at the very edge of Schwerin near a commercial area and is very quiet and restful. It has excellent access to the road network in the region and therefore makes for a perfect base to reconnoitre the surroundings. The bathroom came with all the typical amenities for a 4 star hotel. Minus point was the airconditioning which was left switched off for the entire duration of our stay despite the hot weather. This forced us to open the window to get fresh air at night. Needless to say that along with the fresh air also quite a few nightly bugs entered the room. Luckily we had brought our own mosquito repellent to limit the inconvenience. Hotels in Germany often do not seem to see the need to switch on air conditioning or sometimes simply don't have airconditioning even in 4-star establishments and above. Parking is available on the hotel grounds and is free of charge. Wifi funtioned well but was only available at an extra cost.
