This is the second time that we have stayed at an NH Hotel in Europe. The location is certainly not the best if you don't have a vehicle. We were renting a car, so it was good for us. The hotel is about 4.5km from the city centre. They do rent bikes for 5 Euro. It is on a nice property and the hotel is decorated nicely, but when you actually look at it up close, the entire hotel needs a new paint job. It is looking a little tired. The hotel service was ok. Nothing bad to say, but the staff certainly did not go out of their way to be overly friendly or helpful. The rooms were a nice size and had very nice decor. Comfortable beds and huge bathrooms for European standards. However, for a hotel that is touting itself as catering to the business type, there were no ironing boards, or irons. Fitness Centre was pitiful. Breakfast ridiculously expensive if you were planning on eating there. Wireless internet in the lobby ONLY was free. They give you a sign-in and you have 30 minutes and then have to go get another sign-in from the receptionist if you want to be on it longer, otherwise if you want internet in your room, you have to pay. They were having a problem with the internet when we were there, so we weren't impressed. It was not a fast connection either.
Schwerin is an absolutely beautiful town and for what you get, the price of the rooms are pretty good value. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
