We went to Schwerin to visit the castle and the site of the recent federal flower show. Unfortunately the hotel is quite a distance from both - it took us about 30 minutes to walk to the castle. The hotel also suffers from being located between a busy train line and an equally busy major intersection. In other words, it is quite noisy. On the other hand, the hotel appears to be very well managed and we found the front desk staff to be most professional and helpful. Our room was very spacious, the beds comfortable, and we were even provided with slippers and bathrobes. The hotel's fitness center is well equipped and the sauna facilities excellent. Frau Otto, the manager of the center, was so friendly and helpful that she made us feel right at home.

If you like hotels in the traditional style, then this is the hotel for you! Very nice personnel, excellent restaurant, typical and good German breakfast. The hotel doesn't look much from outside but once you get inside things improve.
(Particularly impressed with the plastic flower arangements in our room)!

A little disappointed on arrival as hotel not strong on looks - typical City brick block, but it changes as soon as you step inside. It's rated as 4+ star accommodation, but would certainly get the 5th star if it had a swimming pool. Staff courteous and helpful, quickly arranging free parking for our Scenic with roofbox which was too high for the underground carpark. Room large and spacious in quiet zone with views over Ostorfer See. Pleasant bar and lovely restaurant with excellent menu. Evening meal was of the highest quality, replicated again at breakfast.

Scwerin is a fascinating city surrounded by eleven lakes, ranging from the small Pfaffenteich and Burgsee (complete with its fairytale castle) to the vast Scwerin See. The city is very attractive with many restored old buildings with the piece de resistance being Schwerin Schloss with its beautiful gardens. A delight to stroll around.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in.
Staff were both professional , friendly and smartly dressed, many spoke English. Their communication by email before my arrival and face to face communication during it was of the highest standard .Even the owner helped me in a translation of a document whilst I was there.
Rooms were luxury and large even although I had a standard room .There was always hot water.
The meals in the restaurant were nicely presented and the restaurant staff were very professional and attentive even asking me if I wanted time between courses.
I felt I was treated as a real person, important as I travelled alone on this trip.
The hotel was located opposite a lake and it had a lakeside path to the city., a pleasant walk. A bus stop is also opposite the hotel.
Unfortunely I could only stay for two days but hopefully I will visit again next year.
I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveller.
