We (two adults and one child) spent a night at the Penta Hotel Rostock before boarding the ferry back to Helsinki. Found the hotel at TripAdvisor and good a good price for a triple room.
At the time of check in the reception was really crowded with hordes of elderly Scandinavian tourists who were arriving at the same time. Related to this or not, the triple room we had booked had apparently already been given to someone else. Instead, we were given a double room and an extra bed was delivered later. This was ok, but we'd rather have had the room we originally booked.
Breakfast was ok (no bacon though). Luckily we went early and avoided the biggest crowds.
The hotel building itself is very nice. The location is excellent and the hotel is modern and clean. The room we got was large with a nice modern bathroom and an LCD TV. There was an extra charge for Wi-Fi, which is rather odd these days. We also had to pay for parking.
Overall this is quite nice hotel but service could be a little better. I recommend it if you get a good deal with breakfast included.
