This was my first visit to the Tryp while on a business trip. The hotel offers an above average accomodations, great location to the Bahnhoff and VW, however, I will not stay there again. In my opinion, the rate of €137 excluding breakfast is excessive for what you get. I understand that when you book in more than a week advance, the rates can be more reasonable.
The front desk practically demanded that I eat at their restaurant (which actually looked decent) but the hard sell turned me off. Will stay out of the main town next time for almost half the rate.

My family (2 adults and 2 children) stayed at the Tryp Wolfsburg in June 2008 and really enjoyed our stay. After a bit of convincing the hotel allowed us to book one room with a fold out bed as opposed to two rooms that they usually insist on for a family of four. It was a bit cramped but o.k for a couple of nights as we were out and about alot.

We had travelled a long way (from New Zealand) and were very tired and jetlagged. Check in was efficient and friendly and the rooms clean and modern. The only negative was the shower which was difficult to moderate in temperature. It may have been a problem just with our shower but it wasn't bad enough for us to complain.

The breakfast buffet, which was included for the adults in our rate, was really great. The staff friendly and the food lovely and plentiful. The cafe across the road at the train station also does great coffee and amazing baked goods.

If you are in Wolfsburg for Autostadt or Phaeno then you can't get a better location. It is located about 2 minutes walk from Phaeno and the train station and just over the bridge from Autostadt. It was surprising quiet for such a central location.

We arrived at the hotel by car near midnight and were ancious to get some sleep. We got to leave the car on the hotel property just outside main entrance for free for the night and next day while we visited Autostadt. We got room that had biggest hotel bed that I've seen (we booked a normal double room) and the room was quite spacious otherwise too - not to mention the bathroom (the shower had a lots of room and was built behind a wall so that the whole bathroom floor wouldn't get wet). In the saturday morning at around 9am there were only few others having breakfast so the service was great and quite fast. The breakfast buffet was good and with lots of options to eat.

I'd definitely go there again, the location couldn't be better and the staff was very friendly.

A very nice hotel, small but adequate rooms, very clean. It's a two minute walk from the railroad station and a five minute walk from VW's Autostadt.

And it has an exceptionally nice reception staff. We booked two consecutive nights, but they let us leave after one night and return two days later because Autostadt wasn't offering factory tours on a holiday.

The hotel dining room isn't very impressive and wasn't busy, but we ate a really great dinner there, much to our surprise. And there was a place in the building next door where we could check our email very inexpensively -- ask at reception.
