When I checked in I was assigned a standard room despite booking a premium class room. I was moved to a premium class room after my first night, but only after I complained. I was still charged for a premium class room however.
All the rooms are sparsely furnished, even the so-called premium rooms. None of the rooms have aircon, the "double bed" is two single beds pushed together (which inevitably moves apart during the night on the wooden floor).
In most hotels a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities are standard. Not in the TRYP Wolfsburg however! In the standard room there is no kettle to be found anywhere, whilst in the "premium class" rooms, you do get a kettle but the coffee powder costs 2,50€ per pop. It is actually cheaper to walk over to the McDonalds and get better, real coffee there.
By the way, the only difference between the standard and premium rooms are the kettles in the premium rooms plus some extra bathroom amenities (which I don't use in any case). And off course that the premium class rooms don't overlook the noisy highway (although it can still be heard), but just a blank grey wall in the inner courtyard. At least in the "premium class" rooms one doesn't hear the traffic noise when the window is closed (although one is then suffocating due to no aircon in the rooms).
My vote is, stay away. I know I will.
(ps: Even consider to stay in Hannover to commute in from there on the 30 minute train ride. At least there is a Marriot and Sheraton which are cheaper than the TRYP and MUCH better quality).
