We chose this hotel as the price was fairly good compared with other hotels and it was withing walking distance of the zoo (about 15 min), which was our main travel goal. The hotel is quite close to the main train station (about a 5-10 min walk), but was relatively quiet, even though we had a room facing the tracks. We paid 48 E/night, midweek, which we thought was fine for a central location. You will pay more during a trade fair. The reception does speak some English and there is a well stocked travel bar with pamphlets in both English and German and the daily paper is available in the lobby. We did not have breakfast as I found a nearby bakery which was priced better. The bed was comfortable and the TV ok. There is a very small parking lot ($) but we were able to find a street location right next to the hotel that was free. Note that the lobby is down a flight of steps from the street--this would be a bit challenging for handicapped, though once you are in there is an elevator. The hotel is reasonable modern and in-room wifi is included, though not terribly fast. We were satisfied with our stay and would stay there again. A decent Indian restaurant is across the street.
